"I will never let your legacy fade": The first words of Charlie Kirk's widow

"My husband's voice will live on." Standing behind a lectern next to the empty seat her husband used for his popular podcast, Erika Kirk paid tribute Friday, September 12, to her husband, conservative influencer Charlie Kirk , who was murdered while speaking on a university campus in Utah, USA.

The widow began her 15-minute address, delivered from the Arizona headquarters of Turning Point USA, her husband's organization, by portraying the father of her children, whom she described as a "perfect" man.

“Charlie loved his children. And he loved me. With all his heart. And he made sure I knew it every day,” she says, her voice trembling.

In tears, the former Miss Arizona, now a businesswoman, spoke of the couple's three-year-old daughter's incomprehension about her father's death. "But what do you say to a three-year-old?" Erika Kirk asked her audience.

"Little one, Daddy loves you so much. Don't worry. He's on a business trip with Jesus," she adds.

A supporter of Donald Trump during his lifetime , Charlie Kirk had consistently supported the President of the United States. During his speech, his wife took the opportunity to thank the White House resident.

"Mr. President, my husband loved you. And he knew you loved him too. He knew it. Your friendship was incredible. You were so supportive of him, just as he was of you," she said.

Once the tribute was over, anger took over the widow's words. "Those who do evil and are responsible for the murder of my husband have no idea what they have done. (...) You have no idea what you have just unleashed in this entire country, in this world. (...) You have no idea the fire you have lit (...)", she threatens.

To conclude her speech, Erika Kirk promises her husband to continue his university tour and keep up his podcast.

"I will never let your legacy die," she assures, before concluding: "I look forward to seeing you again one day."
